Ravena Village organizers presented a detailed schedule for the village's 250th-anniversary weekend and asked residents to volunteer for events across three days.
Caitlin, a village board member, said the weekend will begin with an adults-only block party on Friday, July 10 at Moser Park from 7 to 10 p.m., with a DJ and the pool open. "This is an 18 and older event," Caitlin said, adding that the pool will be open for that night and that family activities will follow on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday's events will take place in Clemens Landing, with shuttle service running from Peter B beginning at 2 p.m., Caitlin said. Planned attractions include about 40 vendors, 8–10 food vendors, historical demonstrations by reenactors and an 18th-century boat launch. Organizers have scheduled children's activities such as tricorn-hat making and hands-on history games. Caitlin thanked local partners, including Jesse Baum and the RCS transportation department, for providing shuttle buses.
Sunday activities will be held in Queenman's Hollow, with local groups including the Grange and Trinity Church participating; volunteers Joan Radley and Carol McDonald were credited with organizing the Hollow's program. Caitlin said organizers still need volunteers for Friday and Saturday and encouraged high school students seeking service hours to sign up.
The board also noted the pool passed inspection and is expected to open Saturday, June 27. No permits or special approvals were reported as outstanding for the 250th events at the time of the meeting.
