Upper Milford approves $35,000 in Chamber-run business grants; three additional awards contingent on zoning permits

The Upper Milford Township Board of Supervisors voted on Aug. 4, 2022 to approve Grant Committee recommendations awarding $35,000 to seven fully qualified local businesses and to permit three additional applicants to qualify if they submit the required zoning use permits by Aug. 17, 2022.
Secretary/Treasurer Jessi O’Donald told the board the Grant Committee met Aug. 1 to review 14 applications submitted between May 15 and July 15. The committee found seven businesses fully qualified for awards totaling $35,000, three applicants that still needed zoning use permits to qualify, and four applicants that were disqualified for being located outside the township.
Supervisor Joyce K. Moore moved to approve the committee’s recommendations and to allow the three applicants until Aug. 17 to submit zoning paperwork; Supervisor John Zgura seconded the motion. The record shows the motions carried with all members voting in favor.
Supervisor John D. Zgura later thanked volunteers and the Chamber of Commerce for facilitating the program. The meeting record does not list the names of the award recipients or funding disbursement dates.
