Preston redevelopment agency approves legal bill and $15,000 change order for Riverwalk remediation

The Preston Redevelopment Agency voted unanimously March 25 to pay $4,496.56 to Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP for legal work on an amended Assistance Agreement tied to a $1.5 million DECD grant and to approve a $15,000 change order for LEP services and soil remediation at the Preston Riverwalk.
During the meeting, treasurer-designee Bill Legler reviewed February expenses totaling $22,559 — staff $94, legal services $20,557, building repairs and improvements $1,800, and electricity $109 — leaving an operating balance of $87,039 and a money-market balance of $110,701.81 after $29.72 interest. Legler said the pump station repairs caused by a lightning strike have been paid and that he has contacted Advanta to request they meet their obligation concerning that repair.
Chair Sean Nugent moved to approve payment of the $4,496.56 legal invoice, explaining the invoice covered services preparing the Assistance Agreement amendment related to the $1.5 million DECD award; Frank Ennis seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Later, Legler moved to approve Change Order Task 194-2, a $15,000 proposal to cover LEP (limited environmental professional) services and soil remediation work at the Preston Riverwalk; Merrill Gerber seconded and that motion also passed unanimously.
The board briefly discussed a $588 Google account charge; Joe Biber said he will verify whether the PRA account or an individual account was charged. No public comment was recorded.
Actions taken at the meeting will be funded from the PRA operating budget unless otherwise specified by grant terms or contract language. The board did not identify any amendments to the assistance agreement itself at this meeting.
