The Woolwich Township Joint Land Use Board on March 20 adopted Resolution No. 2025-18 granting an extension of Final Site Plan Approval to WH Development Urban Renewal, LLC for parcels including Block 59 (Lots 6, 6.01, 6.02, 8 & 10) and Block 62 (Lots 1, 2 & 3).
Attorney Michael Floyd, representing WH Development, told the board the applicant remains "awaiting DEP approvals," and that those outside approvals were required before the project could advance. Solicitor Mike Aimino characterized requests for extensions as normal practice; he warned that once allotted extensions expire future allowances could be discretionary. Mayor Natalie Matthias asked how long the applicant anticipated the permits would take, and Commissioner Healey inquired about the board’s options if extensions lapse.
During the resolution discussion Grasso identified a typographical error in the draft resolution (a block number listed as 7 should be 8). The board approved that correction before voting. The motion to adopt was made by Rushton and seconded by Kauffman. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from Daniels, Grasso, Kauffman, Matthias, Moorer, Nocentino, Rushton, Healey and Maugeri; the resolution carried.
The minutes record the reason given for the extension as pending approvals from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The resolution and corrected minute text constitute the board’s formal action; the minutes note that audio of the meeting is on file and that minutes are not verbatim.
The resolution authorizes the project team to retain their final site plan approval for the specified parcels while awaiting required agency sign-offs. The minutes do not specify a new expiration date for the approval or additional conditions in the published text of the minutes.
