Monroeville parks and rec wins county $29,999 grant to support July 3–5 All‑American weekend

Monroeville’s parks and recreation staff and volunteers announced a $29,999 county grant to help finance the borough’s July 3–5 All‑American weekend. The funding was described as a streetscape/festivities grant intended to support main‑street events and special festivals.
Paul Estock (July 4 committee) outlined the schedule: a VIP leadership award and flag ceremony on Friday evening, a performance by the East Wind Symphony, a ticketed barbecue at the Monroeville Convention Center immediately following Friday events, and community day on July 5 featuring a 5K run/walk sponsored by AHN and Forbes, a car cruise, concerts (including No Bad Juju and Joe Krasheki), food vendors and family activities. A helicopter demonstration was confirmed but the landing time remained to be finalized.
Diana Ciongoli (parks and rec) said the county executive announced the program and that Monroeville’s application was selected in part because of the community’s planned 75th anniversary activities. Staff asked council and volunteers to help promote red, white and blue floats and community participation.
The grant will subsidize free community activities; some items (the barbecue) are ticketed. Organizers said they will provide a public event calendar on the center’s website and distribute hard copies on request.
