Smyth County zoning update: recent SUP approval and pending campground litigation noted

Zoning Administrator Becca Creasy updated the commission that the Board of Supervisors followed the commission's recommendation and approved a Special Use Permit for Ryan Groulx's campground in Sugar Grove.
Commissioner Robert Campbell noted activity at Bill Varner's campground; Creasy said Varner reported he sold the property and that new owners are aware of the special use permit restrictions. Creasy also reported the county is in litigation regarding the Opal Davis campground approval and that a hearing is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 29.
