Sabrina Mendez introduced the behavioral‑health appointment and described Matus’s social‑work licensure and 17 years of public‑service experience. Jared Carter, who spoke after his appointment, reflected on 23 years of county service and the public‑works team's responsibilities. Jamie Vax thanked staff and colleagues after her appointment; the chair and several supervisors praised the county’s practice of promoting internally.
Each appointment was moved, seconded and approved by roll‑call vote with a 5–0 result. The board and presenters emphasized institutional knowledge, continuity and the county’s investment in staff development.
