Upper Moreland approves three conditional police appointments, presents multiple commendations

The Upper Moreland Township Board of Commissioners on May 4 voted 7-0 to approve three conditional police appointments and heard multiple commendations from the police chief.
Commissioners approved the conditional appointment of Matthew Greenman as a police cadet and probationary appointments for Jaymie Bonino and Joseph McGowan. The appointments are conditioned on successful completion of required medical and psychological examinations; two of the appointments also require completion of the police academy and certification by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC), as noted in the agenda.
Police Chief Scott Bendig thanked the Citizens Police Academy for its support and presented a series of unit and official commendations to department personnel. Those recognized included Detective Vincent Small, Detective Michael Davido, Detective Mark Bouldin, Officer Preston Moyer, Paramedic David Brierley, Officer William Nagy, Officer Sidney Schwartz and others listed in the meeting minutes.
The board’s approvals were motioned by Commissioner Demond Mullen and seconded by Commissioner Susan Worth-LaManna; the votes on the appointments were unanimous, 7-0. No public comments addressed these items.
