Hans, representing HSO Contracting, said the project would replace three 6-over-6 windows along the property's back with like-for-like units and would convert a visible double-hung on the street-facing elevation into a picture window with two flanking 6-over-6 windows aimed at increasing interior light while retaining the grille pattern on the flanking units. "They would like to upgrade that double double hung to a picture window with 2 flanking 6 over 6 windows on a bay window," Hans said.
Committee members reiterated that window replacements are generally acceptable when done like-for-like and noted limits to exemptions when an architectural detail would change. The chair noted the procedural rule that architectural changes can exceed the committee's ability to exempt them in some cases and thanked the applicant for patience with procedural requirements. The chair also reported a supporting letter from Ralph Arabian; the committee moved, seconded, and approved the application by voice vote.
No conditions beyond the usual compliance and permit requirements were recorded in the meeting minutes. The committee did not specify additional historic-material constraints beyond maintaining the grille pattern where possible.
