Staff said the downtown area is under active review as part of a broader comprehensive-plan update for the Ward Plaza area and that the next step is to convene input groups composed of downtown-focused boards and organizations. "Staff will be looking for board input on a proposed, new, zoning district, for the downtown area," the staff member said, describing the work as a small-area planning effort to incorporate design guidelines into zoning.
Staff indicated they have no set dates yet but plan to return with information sessions and requested Board participation in the planning process. The board did not take action; staff will bring future materials and scheduling for review and participation.
