During public comment at the May 28 Wellfleet Zoning Board of Appeals meeting, Maria Ecki of 85 Somerset Ave told the board she was making "an appeal for transparency." The chair responded that the ZBA can only hear appeals that are properly filed with and decided by the building inspector first and advised Ecki to file the appeal with the building inspector and to appear in person to discuss the matter rather than by email.
Ecki gave her name and address on the record; the chair emphasized the procedural route: file with the building inspector, obtain a determination, and then appeal that determination to the board if desired. No further action on the appeal was taken by the board at the meeting; the chair closed the public-comment exchange after giving procedural guidance.
