Summary

Marie Beck, chair of the Scotland Recreational Committee, called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. on May 12 at the Scotland Grange.
Committee members confirmed plans for the committee's summer schedule. Yoga classes will continue through June 4 at the local school and transfer to the Grange afterward, the minutes state. The committee set the Music on the Green lineup with Slide Hustle performing July 11, Highland Road on Aug. 8 and Blackburns on Sept. 12; a fourth act, Goodbye Irene, remained to be confirmed.
The committee listed the Washed Out Bridge Challenge road race for Aug. 15, with a 7 p.m. start and a participant cap of 150. The road race was described in the minutes as a repeat event for 2026.
On procedural items, Katie LeClair moved to accept the March 2026 meeting minutes; Ann DeFeo seconded and the minutes record the motion was unanimously approved. Later in the meeting Monica Lindsay moved, and Katie LeClair seconded, a motion to maintain the committee's prior-year budget request to the town; the minutes record the motion and second but do not record a vote or a final outcome for that budget item.
During open discussion members raised the idea of adding a puzzle-night challenge in the fall or winter. The committee scheduled its next meeting for June 9, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Scotland Grange. The meeting adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
No ordinances, formal ordinances or external authorities were referenced in the minutes.
