Planning Commission tables PFAS treatment plant and nursery plans; liaison announces special meeting on Data Center Ordinance

The Silver Spring Township Planning Commission on May 7 tabled two land-development plans at the applicants’ requests and received a liaison update on upcoming Board activity.
At the start of old business, the Commission tabled the Silver Spring PFAS Treatment Plant Preliminary Land Development Plan (2025-8) after the applicant requested additional time; on a McDonald/Sandys motion the Commission tabled the plan and the motion carried. The Commission also tabled the Donald Lenk - Nursery Final Land Development Plan (2025-11) on a McDonald/Sandys motion at the applicant’s request; that motion likewise carried.
Laura Brown, the Commission liaison, reported that the Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 13 to discuss the Data Center Ordinance and that, given amendments and questions, consideration of the ordinance may be pushed to the June or July Planning Commission and Board meetings. She also said the Board approved the Hunters Glen plan.
There being no further business, the Commission adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
