Resident Dina Dusick demands retractions, alleges missing records and defamation

Dina Dusick delivered a written demand at the May 20 meeting, asking the board to "immediately cease making, repeating, or allowing all statements regarding allegations of missing items, materials, or any property associated with the town hall that references or implies my involvement," and threatening legal action if corrections are not made.
"Any inaccurate or misleading comments that damage my reputation, integrity, or character are unacceptable and may constitute slander and defamation of character," Dusick said as she read the letter and provided copies to the board and the records officer.
The chair (S3) responded to some of Dusick’s statements, acknowledging that "I did fall asleep in the back," but denying other allegations while saying the town had received FOIL requests and that a secretary and the town’s IT contractor had acknowledged wiping a town computer at direction. In the course of the exchange the chair said the computer had been wiped and described attempts to contact attorneys and vendors who were struggling to reach the office.
Dusick said she would consider pursuing "all appropriate legal remedies" if allegedly false claims continue, and she told the board she had filed the matter in writing and that further documentation would be provided. The board did not resolve the dispute at the meeting; members and residents urged gathering documentary evidence and having the town attorney and the building inspector available at a future session to answer technical questions about records, vaulting and computer data.
