After the presentation, Commissioner Tammy Hendrix moved to approve the resolution adopting the Service Plan; Commissioner Robert Jacobson seconded and the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. Haskin told the board that two ordinances will be required to form the district: an initiating ordinance that sets the hearing date and outlines boundaries and an organizing/creation ordinance. He set the organizing/creation hearing for July 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers.
Public commenter Robin Biggs raised concerns about prior decisions made during a period with reduced Bureau of Land Management staffing in Carson City and later questioned where a prior 2025 meeting had been held and how many people attended; the transcript does not specify the number of attendees at the 2025 meeting. Biggs also reiterated concerns about noticing timelines and asked for satellite maps showing project locations across the county to reduce public confusion.
