The Personnel Committee met June 5 and approved multiple personnel actions and promotions recommended by department heads. The committee approved termination or termination of sick leave for several fire department employees, promotions and hires including hiring Benjamin Brown as an Equipment Operator I and promoting Samantha Burch and Sydney Thompson at Animal Control. The Jury approved funding for five Fire Communication Officer II positions and approved changing the courthouse maintenance employees' Juneteenth observance to June 16 for scheduling reasons.
Mr. Mitchell, Assistant District Attorney, recommended and the Jury accepted a proposal to appraise the main library branch from Mark Counts. Treasurer Mr. Cammack presented proposals for debris removal (Ceres) and debris monitoring (Volkert); the Jury accepted both proposals. Public Works recommended accepting Holcim bids for limestone for groups A and C; the Jury approved that recommendation. Ms. Doretha Bennett's request to purchase two vehicles off the state contract was approved without opposition.
Mr. Mitchell also presented and the Jury approved a beer and liquor application for Kamboj, Gurder d/b/a Fueltrac Randall’s LA, LLC (4205 Old Sterlington Rd., Monroe) as a new owner with retail beer Class B and retail liquor Class D licenses. During other business, Autumn Benson raised an animal control issue.
Most administrative motions were approved without opposition in committee and ratified by the full Jury.
