Nexus demonstrates Narcan; library proclaims National Library Week and a beekeeper urges community support

At the April 3 Taylor Town Council meeting, a Nexus representative demonstrated how to use Narcan and told the council the antidote is currently available free through the organization. Vicky Solomon of Nexus described the group's mission to reduce substance use and strengthen youth and caregiver connections.
"It's free to everyone right now through Nexus," Solomon said during her presentation, which also reviewed Nexus’s outreach and resilience-building goals for youth and parents.
During the public-comment period, beekeeper Jack Babb urged the town to support local beekeeping and described monthly meetings held at the fire department for the Beekeepers of the White Mountains of Arizona; he invited residents to visit wmazbeekeepers.org and noted local efforts to commemorate Arbor Day on April 25.
Rikki Cadwell presented the library’s plans for National Library Week (April 6–12), announcing programs including story time, an art contest and adult-education activities; Council Member Bill Baldwin read the proclamation and encouraged residents to use library services. Cadwell also thanked the town for support toward a new library roof.
These items were presented for council information and no formal council action was required on the Nexus demonstration, the library proclamation or the public comment about beekeeping.
