The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Rockwell City and approved a set of routine permits, claims and a drainage payment while noting a teleconference with Webster County on a joint drainage memorandum of understanding.
On a motion by Supervisor Cory Ridgely, seconded by Supervisor Scott Jacobs, the board approved Underground Construction Permit 062025 for Windstream Iowa Communications, Inc. to replace a temporary fiber line in N28 Sec 33/34 of Williams Township. The motion carried with George, Ridgely and Jacobs voting aye.
The board also reviewed and allowed claims checks numbered 79936 through 80055, bank drafts DFT0005170 through DFT0005191 and stamped warrants 505917 through 505930 after a motion by Ridgely, seconded by Jacobs; the vote was recorded as all ayes. The itemized vendor and amount listings are recorded in the official claims register in the Auditor’s Office.
Separately, the board approved a drainage claim to Mauer Tiling on a motion by Ridgely, seconded by Jacobs; the motion carried unanimously. The Auditor’s Office holds the full minutes and documentation for the drainage claim.
At 9:02 a.m., the board held a teleconference with Webster County to address a proposed Memorandum of Understanding concerning joint drainage districts; Eric Yunginger, assistant drainage engineer for Buena Vista, Calhoun and Sac counties, participated.
