The Mineola billing department reported that in May it issued 90 permits and performed 57 inspections as staff continue to enforce local property-maintenance codes and follow up on letters previously sent to property owners.
The mayor and trustees used the public meeting to remind residents about property maintenance responsibilities and to encourage the public to use the village's MyMineola app (GoGov) to log complaints or requests so departments can track and respond. The mayor said trees removed during recent road work will be replanted, typically in November or December when trees are dormant, and that the village aims to plant root-friendly species to avoid repeating past utility and sidewalk conflicts.
Trustees also promoted several community events: a Portugal Heritage Month flag-raising and parade, a World Cup watch-party at Memorial Park the weekend of June 19–21, and the July 19 Liberty Festival with a Billy Joel cover band and fireworks at Wilson Park. The board urged residents to monitor event postings and to attend.
