WYLIE, Texas — The Wylie Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4–0 on June 2 to approve a special-use permit to allow minor automobile repair on a 1.275-acre site at 7940 East Parker Road.
Planning staff described the request as a conceptual plan that will require a full site-plan submission later. Staff said the applicant asked to orient loading doors toward Parker Road with additional screening to shield garage doors from the right of way and that an existing building at the rear of the site could remain for storage pending building-official and fire-marshall approval.
Staff said the city mailed 10 notices for the item and received no written opposition. The commission opened and closed the public hearing with no public commenters, then approved the special-use permit after a motion and second.
Commissioners noted the conceptual nature of the submission and that required site-plan details — including elevations and preliminary engineering — will be reviewed when a site plan is submitted.
