The Caldwell County Board of Health approved its operating procedures at the June 4 meeting and heard public-health updates, including a child health fair recap, a community health assessment that will guide a fall community health improvement plan, a communicable-disease midyear report and a child-fatality review.
The chair opened the meeting, called for public comment (none), and the board approved the meeting agenda and the May 7 minutes by voice vote. Britney Ravey presented the budget summary for April, reporting expenditures and county revenue figures; no amendments were proposed.
Tyler presented a recap of the April 27 child health and safety fair; staff recognized Lashonda Moore in WIC as employee of the year. The board heard the CHA presentation from Bridal Flanagan and a midyear communicable-disease report from Chad Barr, and Anna Cook presented child fatality findings and recommended increased safe-sleep education.
The board moved to adopt the operating procedures as presented; a motion was made and seconded and the procedures were adopted by unanimous voice vote. The chair announced a vacancy on the board following Dr. Davis's departure and invited interested residents to apply on the county website. The meeting was adjourned by voice vote.
