Charlestown outlines 250th celebration, Memorial Day plans and spring park inspections

At the March 19 meeting the Charlestown Parks & Recreation Board reviewed several upcoming community events and the spring park inspection schedule.
Stephanie Robinson summarized the planned 250th Celebration with vendors and activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a quill writing demonstration from 10 a.m. to noon, lunch trucks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a flag dedication ceremony at 2 p.m. The board also noted the Memorial Day Commemoration at Charlestown Cemetery will take place Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m.; Willistown Troop 78 has been invited to assist and the Charlestown Woolen Mill will be open for self‑guided tours at 11 a.m.
Robinson said the township’s 2026 Parks & Recreation event schedule will be published in the spring newsletter. She also presented the Spring 2026 park inspection dates (Woolen Mill — March 19; Jenkins Mark — March 24; Pickering Preserve and Trail — March 30; Charlestown Park — April 2) and invited other board members to participate where available.
No formal votes were taken on event scheduling or inspections at the meeting.
