Engineering reports five drainage projects moving toward July bids; Laredo Drive construction underway

Engineering presented a status update on five drainage projects and outlined next steps for design, easement acquisition, utility coordination and bidding.

"For Green Valley drainage improvements, the H and H study has been complete. The survey work has also been complete," Justin said, adding that staff is revising easements, reaching out to property owners for acquisition and waivers, and has completed the final design and an updated estimate. "So we are shooting for a bid process in July," he said.

Justin said Glenwood Road's survey and H&H work are complete, with the report expected by the end of next week and design to begin ahead of an anticipated end-of-July bid. Clearview Road and Lester Lane survey work is finished and design is slated to begin at the end of June, with bid development to follow in early July.

Laredo Drive is under construction with a contractor on site; Justin said staff expects that project to be complete in July and showed a photo of a new concrete flume.

Chester Street design has been submitted to the city; staff are addressing final comments and expect a July bidding process for the project. Justin told the council that utility coordination with gas, water and sewer is complete across projects and staff will develop the required bid documents.

Council members asked staff to gather before-and-after photos and videos and reported positive community feedback for completed work.

The projects together represent ongoing capital infrastructure work; council directed staff to continue coordination and to return with bid-ready documents.
