The Woolwich Township Joint Land Use Board on Aug. 7 approved a site‑plan waiver request from Center Square Abode, LLC (doing business as Kiddie Academy, 1980 Township Line Rd) to install a four‑foot fence and gate around the preschool’s parking lot.
Attorney Ryan Hoffman and applicant Nilay Shaw testified the fenced area is intended to address recurring after‑hours parking and unauthorized access; police have responded to the site on multiple occasions. Shaw said the gate would be locked by the first arriving staff member and unlocked by the last departing staff member, and the fence would include a small pedestrian entrance for emergency access. Board members and the board solicitor discussed emergency access and the possibility of a key lock box; Hoffman said an electronic lock would be optional and that the applicant will comply with zoning regulations.
Rushton moved to grant the waiver and refer the installation to the zoning officer for verification; Cotton seconded. The board recorded a roll‑call vote in which all present voted in favor. The zoning officer will confirm fence placement and compliance with applicable rules.
