Commissioners asked practical questions about the timing of reimbursements, insurance coverage and how long the city would be required to act as fiscal agent; staff said the city has previously served in that role for similar grants via the Council of Governments (COG) and that reimbursements are processed as the project invoices progress. The commission approved the resolution with an affirmative roll call and welcomed a targeted April opening window for the theater (staff and Main Street clarified some details remain to be finalized).
Staff noted the city would front the grant dollars and be reimbursed according to the grant’s payment schedule; commissioners asked staff to confirm insurance coverage for the theater building and coordinate any necessary updates.
