Teachers and public press board for faster MTSS rollout; district cites August data-room rollout

At the board’s public-comment period on June 3, staff and a community member urged faster implementation of the district’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) at the junior/senior high.
Public commenter Nana and staff members said MTSS supports — including academic tracking, behavior and social-emotional data — have been more fully implemented at the elementary level and should be extended to older students without delay. Nana said the work done in prior years for elementary students had been “magnificent” and urged the district to bring the junior high up to the same pace this August.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Raiser acknowledged the concerns and described a planned rollout: the district intends to create a junior/senior high data room containing student profiles, strengths, weaknesses, attendance and intervention records so staff can quickly identify needs. Raiser said the data room and related MTSS processes are scheduled to be in place in August and that administrators have been discussing the plan with building staff.
Board members expressed surprise that some secondary-level elements had not yet been fully implemented and committed to follow up with administrators. Trustees asked for clearer timelines and for evidence of progress; the superintendent and staff said they would provide updates and noted the work is ongoing.
The board took no formal action on the MTSS rollout during the June 3 meeting but directed staff to continue implementation work and report progress to the board.
