During the review a resident described the division of the land, saying the proposal sections one acre for the town and two acres for a private party (Trevor Stanquist) and confirmed portions are under contract. Council and staff noted a small contract correction was needed because the buyer — not the city — would take the newly separated lot. After those clarifications S4 moved to approve the plat; S1 seconded and the council approved the plat on a voice vote.
Why it matters: The plat will create a separate lot that the town intends to reserve for future municipal use while allowing a private buyer to complete a purchase and build on the remaining parcel. Staff and council asked that recorded documents be finalized (survey, earnest-money transfer) prior to closing.
