The Village of Pelham Sustainability Advisory Board on May 7 mapped out upcoming community outreach and named a summer fellow to support outreach and research.
The board identified Town Community Day on May 16 and the Pelham Market—scheduled monthly beginning May 31 and June 28—as primary venues to engage residents on sustainability topics and to publicize SAB activities.
The board also welcomed a new SAB summer fellow, identified as Maddie, who will support research, documentation, outreach and other sustainability initiatives across the summer. The SAB said the fellow’s work will help shape educational content and event materials.
Priority outreach themes the SAB identified for resident education include composting, waste reduction, healthy-yard practices, tree planting and flood mitigation. Members discussed using the events to raise awareness of the village’s public green spaces and to explore partnerships with schools and community organizations for broader reach.
