The Jackson County 4-H, Master Gardener and Agricultural Extension Service District Board approved minutes from its Dec. 17, 2025 meeting and appointed new leadership for 2026 during a Jan. 7 meeting held in the Courthouse Auditorium and by audio/videoconference.
District Board Chair Colleen Roberts opened the meeting at 9:22 a.m. and announced attendees including District Board Members Rick Dyer and Randy Sparacino, County Administrator Danny Jordan, County Counsel Joel Benton and recorder Megan Cook. The board first took up the consent calendar, which included the Dec. 17, 2025 minutes.
District Board Member Rick Dyer moved to approve the consent calendar, and District Board Member Randy Sparacino seconded. The board recorded aye votes from Rick Dyer, Randy Sparacino and Chair Colleen Roberts; the motion passed and the minutes were approved.
The board then considered Order No. AE-1-26, an order appointing a chair and vice-chair for calendar year 2026. District Board Member Randy Sparacino moved to appoint District Board Member Rick Dyer as chair. District Board Chair Colleen Roberts moved to amend the motion to also appoint District Board Member Randy Sparacino as vice-chair; Sparacino accepted the amendment. The board recorded aye votes from Sparacino, Dyer and Roberts; the amendment and amended motion passed, effecting the appointments.
There was no additional deliberation recorded. With no further business, District Board Chair Rick Dyer adjourned the meeting at 9:23 a.m.
