Robert Stephenson, the school committee chair, opened the June 1 reorganizational meeting of the Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District and was re-elected chair by the committee. During the reorganization the committee also elected Pam Peschke as vice chair and approved a secretary with one abstention noted.
The votes were taken by show of hands after nominations. The chair election was recorded in the minutes with a 5–0–1 final tally. The nomination for vice chair passed without dissent, and the secretary appointment carried with one abstention (recorded as Ryan). The committee then resumed regular business.
The reorganization follows standard annual practice to name officers for the coming year before the committee begins substantive business. Committee members said the short officer slate positioned the panel to move promptly into agenda items including personnel matters, facilities updates and the superintendent search.
At the close of the reorganization sequence the committee returned control to Stephenson to continue the meeting.
The committee recorded the officer votes in the meeting minutes and entered the results into the official record; members said any further changes to subcommittee assignments will be addressed at the retreat or at a subsequent meeting.
