The Planning Commission on July 11 forwarded a conditional-use application for a Special Event Center at 264 Ridge Hill Road (CU2024-3) to the Board of Supervisors with a recommendation for approval.
John Melham of Melham & Associates presented the application and owner/resident Haroon Rashid described operations. Melham said any outdoor lighting would be downcast. Rashid said the building and parking area support a maximum occupancy of about 280 and that the applicants do not plan outdoor music, though some ceremonies may be held outdoors.
Commission members expressed support for preserving and repurposing the existing barn as part of the project. The Planning Commission voted to forward the conditional-use application to the Board of Supervisors with a recommendation for approval on a Helman/Sandys motion; the motion carried.
