With Weed Superintendent Bret Stubbs present, the Buffalo County Board adopted Resolution 2026-21 on May 26 establishing fees associated with official 10- and 15-day noxious weed control notices.
The resolution sets a $250 management fee per parcel to cover filing, postage, inspection and related administrative costs. It specifies that labor, machine hire and spraying will be charged at twice the standard commercial applicator rate (for example, a $50/hour commercial charge would be billed at $100/hour to the landowner). Mileage will be charged at the commercial applicator’s mileage rate plus 20 percent. The resolution also allows recovery of other miscellaneous expenses relating to weed control, including court costs and laboratory testing if incurred.
The motion carried on roll call among Commissioners Klein, Kouba, Lynch, Maendele and Morrow; Commissioners Higgins and Loeffelholz were absent.
