Pasco to consider adopting regional multi-hazard mitigation plan to remain eligible for federal funding

Pasco City Council will consider adopting Franklin County Emergency Management's regional multi-hazard mitigation plan at its June 8 workshop, the city said. Alyssa Warner said the plan is a team effort involving Franklin County, Pasco, Connell, Colotes and Mesa and is designed to ensure the jurisdictions are prepared for drought, flooding and wildfires.
Warner said adopting the plan is required to qualify for certain types of federal funding. The preview did not include the plan’s specific measures, cost estimates, or implementation schedule; those elements are expected to appear in the full plan and during the workshop presentation.
