The Trussville City Schools Board of Education approved the superintendent's personnel recommendations, which included the retirement of Sandy Dempsey from the transportation department, multiple employment recommendations, stipend and leave items, and several transfers and reassignments.
Doctor Martin thanked Dempsey for long service, saying Sandy "has been a staple in our transportation department," and told the board staff were working on a replacement. The personnel report listed several employment additions and other personnel motions; the board moved, seconded and approved the personnel items by voice vote.
Separately, the board heard an administrative-report item: district staff will present a report on the consequences of recent state championships for Trussville City Schools. Martin noted that Mr. King would deliver that report; he also made light remarks about Lance Walker and other staff. The special call meeting adjourned after the items and votes were completed.
