Council votes unanimously to adjourn to closed session on litigation and confidential records

At the end of Tuesday’s work session, Council member Brandt moved and Council member Jensen seconded a motion to adjourn to closed session to discuss two matters: litigation as permitted by Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(c) and confidential records as permitted by section 21.5(1)(k).
City legal counsel told the council that, after review, both items were appropriate for closed session. The council then took a roll call vote; the clerk recorded affirmative votes and the meeting adjourned to closed session.
The motion was moved by Council member Brandt and seconded by Council member Jensen. The council convened the closed session and said it would reconvene on Thursday.
