During the Community Redevelopment Agency session, the city attorney read a staff recommendation to award a contract to All In 1 Electric for $159,453.50 to replace electrical conduit in the municipal parking garage. The item was identified as a budgeted CRA capital project and staff recommended approval.
A motion to approve the contract was made and seconded. The commissioners present voted in favor, and the city recorded the motion as passing. The item was described as a budgeted CRA capital expenditure with staff representatives listed as Brad Kalso (public works), Devin Talley (water rec director) and the deputy finance director for the CRA.
Following the CRA vote, the commission returned to general business and approved the consent agenda. Consent items included approval of the May 7, 2026 commission minutes and a Save Our Indian River Lagoon local infrastructure surtax renewal interlocal agreement, among other routine items. The consent agenda was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
No public comment was recorded on the CRA contract item during the reading; staff noted the conduit replacement was necessary because original specifications did not account for the coastal salt and moisture environment that accelerated conduit degradation.
