Charlotte County schools honor spring state finalists and champions

The Charlotte County School Board paused routine business on June 2 to recognize student‑athletes and coaches who advanced to state finals or earned state championships.
Superintendent invited Jack Hamm, director of school support, to present honors. Hamm called up principals, athletic directors, coaches and student‑athletes from Lemon Bay High School, Port Charlotte High School and Charlotte High School, naming numerous individual state finalists and champions and inviting group photographs. "Tonight, we are proud to recognize an outstanding group of student athletes and their coaches whose dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence have brought distinction to their schools," Hamm said.
Board members congratulated athletes, coaches and families. The recognitions included state champions in weightlifting, wrestling and track and field, and a series of regional and district champions. The board noted the achievements and invited teams and individuals to the dais for acknowledgement and photographs.
