The superintendent told the board the policies had been revised through the Neola process to ensure compliance with state and federal law and recommended their adoption as advertised. "I am recommending adoption of the policies as advertised," the superintendent said. The board moved, seconded and approved the adoption by voice vote.
The superintendent also opened a public hearing for the 2026–27 Code of Student Conduct, noting it had been reviewed at the April 7 workshop. Miss Reynolds thanked committee members and students who participated in the revision process, saying the student participants "brought a lot of good conversation to the committee." The board approved the code by voice vote.
The superintendent asked the board to approve advertising of the revised policies with one exception: Policy 66‑10 was deferred for further consideration and not included in the advertising motion. The board approved the advertisement motion after a second.
Why it matters: Board policy updates set district expectations for operations and student behavior; the code of conduct governs discipline and student procedures for the coming school year. The advertisement step begins formal public notice and the process required for final adoption of any remaining revised policies.
