Select Board approves outdoor-alcohol alterations for Tavolino and 6 String at Patriot Place

The Foxborough Select Board approved alteration-of-premises applications for two Patriot Place restaurants that requested permission to serve alcoholic beverages in designated outdoor areas.
Tom Peruna (speaker 9) described Tavolino's proposal: a small front area (8 feet out from the building along the frontage) and a larger back patio area previously used during the COVID period. Peruna said both areas would be staffed by certified servers and security for large events, and that building, fire and health departments had been consulted. "Both areas will not interfere with the spine of Patriot Place," Peruna said, and noted the restaurant used the back patio previously without incident.
For 6 String Grill & Stage, attorney Tom Miller (speaker 11) and manager Greg Springer presented a minor alteration to modify existing patio seating and add a portable bar to increase functionality; the proposal would add 23 bar seats and a full-time bartender when the space is in regular service. Miller said the patio area is already used and the change is intended to improve server efficiency, not to expand service onto the spine of Patriot Place.
Board members asked about access, ADA clearance, staffing and how the areas would be monitored; applicants said patrons would enter through the main doors for counting and security and that portable bars and furniture would be used. The board closed both hearings and approved both alteration applications by vote.
