The Dallas County Planning & Zoning Commission on April 21 voted unanimously to rezone roughly 36 acres (Parcel 1501100005) from A-1 to R-1 for Painted Prairie LLC.
Director David Hockett told the commission the parcel is almost surrounded by the City of Waukee and that the applicant intends to use Waukee’s sanitary, storm and roadway standards. Hockett said the county will require that subdivision infrastructure meet those municipal standards; the office recommended approval. A representative from Civil Design, identified as Josh, said the developer intends to pave roads, noting the city will require asphalt overlay.
No public comment was recorded on the item. Thompson moved to approve the rezoning; Miller seconded. The motion carried 7-0.
Hockett and staff noted this action was a rezoning only and that plat, utility and entrance issues will be handled in later reviews to ensure compliance with Waukee’s service requirements.
