Calhoun County supervisors set public hearing on proposed FY 2026-27 property tax levy

Cory Ridgely, member, moved and Dave George, vice chairman, seconded a motion to set a public hearing on the proposed FY 2026-27 property tax levy for March 24, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room; the motion carried with all supervisors voting aye. The board did not take a final vote on the levy itself at the meeting.
Earlier in the session, the board approved the meeting agenda without additions after a motion by Ridgely and a second from George. The supervisors then voted to table approval of the prior meeting’s minutes; Dave George moved to table and Cory Ridgely seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. No members of the public spoke during the public comment period.
The board also voted to adjourn and reconvene for its next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 10 at 9:00 a.m.; the motion to adjourn was moved by Ridgely and seconded by George and passed unanimously. The meeting record includes signatures for Scott Jacobs (Chairman), Dave George (Vice Chairman), Cory Ridgely (Member) and Jena Patzner (Auditor).
The public hearing scheduled for March 24 is the next formal opportunity for residents to comment on the proposed levy before any final action by the board.
