Parish approves FEMA lease, Green Oaks hires and CCTV vendor; liquor license granted
Summary
On Feb. 22 the Jury approved a FEMA lease for 310 Lashay Drive to April Bagby, hired two juvenile detention officers for Green Oaks pending background checks, accepted a CCTV proposal from Advanced Security Technologies, approved a cooperative agreement with the Department of Children and Family Services, granted conditional final subdivision approval for Nichols Place, and approved a beer and whiskey license for Blue Iguana Margarita Bar.
Assistant District Attorney Mr. Mitchell recommended approval of a FEMA lease for 310 Lashay Drive in West Monroe to April Bagby; the Jury approved the lease without opposition.
Public Works recommended final subdivision approval for Nichols Place Subdivision; the Jury granted conditional final approval subject to satisfactory responses to the parish engineer's and Public Works' comments.
Green Oaks director Mr. Pleasant asked to hire Tamondo Phillips and Daniel Thompson as Juvenile Detention Officer II pending cleared background checks; the hires were approved. Pleasant also presented proposals for a CCTV system at Green Oaks and recommended Advanced Security Technologies; the Jury accepted that proposal. Pleasant requested approval of a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services for a juvenile placed at Green Oaks; the Jury approved the agreement.
Mr. Mitchell presented a beer and whiskey application for Mario Mata of Blue Iguana Margarita Bar LLC (5404 Cypress Street, West Monroe) and recommended approval; the Jury approved the application. Mitchell also publicly announced that applications for the Registrar of Voters position will be accepted until March 10.
