Finance staff explained the street construction fund had approximately $5.1 million in available balance, and that the two projects raised planned expenses to about $5.149 million, requiring a $45,000 transfer from the general fund to fully fund the program. Councilmember Beran moved the ordinance and Councilmember Sharp seconded; the motion carried 5–0.
Engineers will perform deeper stabilization (approximately two feet of cement stabilization to underlying soils) for the Poco Drive repair to address the base failure; staff said the contractor is on site and scheduling striping and final work. The Lewis Lane surfacing and striping work is expected to be accomplished within a day or two once the contractor schedules the work and traffic controls are in place.
Next steps: staff will coordinate construction timing and notify affected residents of brief traffic impacts during the repair and striping work.
