Highlands Municipal Alliance says town will receive additional grant funds; lists June programs

Dr. Heather de Blasio, municipal alliance coordinator for Highlands and Atlantic Highlands, told the council on June 3 that the alliance’s grant funding is increasing and that the extra funds will allow the program to expand prevention and parent-education initiatives.
De Blasio said the alliance partners with schools, police, Rutgers and local organizations to deliver youth and parent programming. She gave dates for upcoming offerings: a parent program on social media for parents on June 10 at 7 p.m. at the community center, the alliance meeting on June 18 at 3 p.m. in the conference center, and a free Narcan training for residents on June 22 at 7 p.m. at the community center. De Blasio encouraged residents and organizations to propose program ideas and to attend meetings.
Council members thanked De Blasio for the update and urged broader participation.
