County says Juvenile Court recording equipment failing; judge may seek replacement

County Administrator Hank Solowiej reported that Erie County’s IT Department has worked on the core system but determined problems appear closely tied to the vendor that provides the courtroom equipment. Solowiej said Judge DeLamatre will likely begin exploring alternative options and that the Court currently has funding available within its budget to replace or modify equipment if necessary.
Commissioner Old urged consistency across judges, saying he has not heard of similar issues with other courtroom equipment used through Courtview. There was no formal board direction recorded beyond the report and the note that the judge may pursue a vendor change using court funds.
