Town project manager Thurman Blanchard updated the board on multiple operational projects during the May 27 meeting.
Blanchard said the street light project is complete and the contract with the previous vendor was not renewed, producing savings; Greg Larnard has assumed responsibility for system programming and maintenance. A NYSERDA grant of $15,000 was awarded and, after a $4,600 audit fee, left $10,400; $3,990.50 was allocated to Town Hall LED lighting, Wi‑Fi temperature control, weatherstripping and ventilation, and $6,488 was approved for electrical landscaping equipment (reimbursable under the grant), leaving an out-of-pocket cost to the Town of $78.50. The minutes note NYSERDA may audit the project anytime in the next five years.
Blanchard reported the potable hot water project was successful and that purchased playground equipment (approved in 2025 for $26,700) has arrived in boxes at the park. He proposed that Highway Department staff perform site excavation and finishing work with outside contractors providing installation quotes; an inspection will follow installation.
No formal board votes were recorded on procurement of the equipment at this meeting beyond authorization to proceed with quoting and internal work coordination.
