The Town of Horseheads Planning Board voted May 6 to call a public hearing for a special‑use permit application from NB Motors LLC for 210 Old Ithaca Road and to refer the application to the Chemung County Planning Board and the Village of Horseheads.
Nolan Beahan, representing NB Motors, said he intends to add an automotive sales business to a parcel owned by his father‑in‑law, Frank Morich, and that the New York State DMV requested physical barriers to separate the existing and proposed businesses. The Board advised Beahan to coordinate with the Town Code Department and submit an updated site plan before further action.
The Board adopted Resolution #6 (motion by Board Member Allan Curren; seconded by Board Member Matt Mustico) to call a public hearing on the request. The resolution conditions approval on the applicant’s submission of a new site plan map. The Board then adopted Resolution #7 (motion by Board Member Allan Curren; seconded by Board Member Angela Hawken) making a positive recommendation to the Chemung County Planning Board and the Village of Horseheads, also contingent on the updated site plan. Both votes were recorded AYES (4): Hawken, Curren, Mustico and Nicastro; NAYES (0).
Next steps: the Board’s referral and public‑hearing call advance the application to county and village review and set the matter for a public hearing once the applicant provides the requested site map.
