The Edgar County Board voted to accept the FY25 audit performed by Wipley LLC.
Chair (speaker 1) summarized the audit results on the record, saying the county’s retirement plans are funded at about 98% overall and that one fund is at roughly 103%, and reported an expanded surplus over the past year. Chair also stated the audit cost was “about 55, roughly,” which the board discussed as including a separate commissary audit required by the Department of Corrections; the figure on the record indicates an audit expense of roughly $55,000.
Dan moved to accept the FY25 audit and Andy seconded; the board approved the acceptance by roll call. Chair said staff would review suggestions in the audit reports and follow up on findings even though there were no findings characterized as major problems.
The board noted that certain audits (for example, the jail commissary audit) are separate items and that staff will examine recommended improvements and report back.
