Bayside architectural committee unanimously approves six residential exterior projects

The Village of Bayside Architectural Review Committee unanimously approved six residential exterior projects at its Oct. 20 meeting, clearing fence installations, an enclosed glass addition, a backyard shed and a small deck with an accessible service ramp.

Chairperson John Krampf opened the 5 p.m. meeting and the committee first approved the minutes from its Sept. 15 meeting. The committee then took up property applications from Bayside homeowners and their representatives.

At 9033 North Greenvale Road, homeowner Sandra Dennis asked to install 94 lineal feet of four-foot-high black aluminum fence along part of her backyard; the committee approved the request after a motion by Chairperson Krampf and a second from Trustee Ben Minkin.

At 1131 East Bay Point Road, homeowner Michael Arena sought to replace an existing privacy fence. The written project description and the committee’s approval reflect an installation of 18 lineal feet of six-foot-high cedar privacy fence, but the applicant’s oral remarks in the transcript reference '127 lineal feet of four-foot-high black aluminum fence.' This discrepancy is recorded in the meeting text; the motion that passed approved the 18 lineal feet of six-foot-high cedar privacy fence.

At 8925 North Iroquois Road, homeowners Pam Swanson and Lisa Fry presented a plan to install 142 lineal feet of five-foot-high cedar fence set at least five feet from the property line; the committee approved that installation.

At 9470 North Broadmoor Road, architect Linda Claire described a 115-square-foot glass-enclosed addition that would enclose an existing sidewalk from the garage to the house; the project includes replacing the addition roof so it matches the existing roof. The committee approved the enclosure.

At 8851 North Bayside Drive, designer Denise Rinke presented a 250-square-foot shed whose roof and side finishes will match the home; the committee approved the shed.

At 110 West Krause Place, homeowner Mahmmod Muhamad described an eight-by-eight deck with a 17-foot service ramp, gray composite decking and black-aluminum railing. Committee members emphasized the need for a rear landscape plan; the committee approved the deck, ramp and the rear landscaping with a completion date of Nov. 21, 2025.

All motions recorded in the minutes carried unanimously. The committee adjourned at 5:28 p.m.
