Larson Danielson submitted a base bid of $4,105,000 with alternates including a restroom at $756,000, masonry seat walls at $87,000 and a boardwalk shelter for $64,000. Miss Eason, the superintendent, told the board that both firms provided supporting documentation.
A board member moved to table the bids for review so staff can examine the proposals and supporting materials; the motion was seconded and carried. The board did not award the contract at the meeting and asked staff to return with a recommendation after a formal review of the bids and alternates.
Why it matters: The bids are for a major playground project; tabling gives staff time to check compliance with the bidding requirements and to evaluate alternates and cost implications before the board takes a final vote.
